FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What does an infant sleep consultant do?
A sleep consultant will assess your baby’s current day and night-time routines, identify any existing problems and work with you to provide solutions. At The Good Night Sleep Consultant we will support you the whole way as you implement any changes needed to achieve great sleep for baby and you.
2. Will I have to leave my baby to cry?
My sleep training methods are entirely gentle and supportive. I use an approach which involves gradual change and whilst your child is learning to sleep you will be in the room with them offering comfort and supporting them through the process. Whilst there will nearly always be some tears initially when change is implemented, I don’t use Cry-it-Out or Ferber methods.
3. Will your plan work?
If you follow our methods and do everything that I ask of you, you will absolutely see results. All I ask of you is that you commit to following the plan exactly as we discuss.

5. Is it worth paying a sleep consultant?
It may feel like a bit of an investment, but as I have discovered, you cannot put a price on good sleep. The positive impact of sleep – both on you and your baby’s wellbeing– is priceless.
6. Can I continue breastfeeding my little one?
Absolutely! You can achieve amazing results however you choose to feed your little one, including if you want to continue feeding at night. I will work with you to create a feeding structure that will support your goals, whilst improving sleep for the whole family.
7. Can we work with you if we are co-sleeping?
Yes! I work with families who are currently co-sleeping – whether out of choice or necessity . I work with you to achieve your goals, whether those include moving your little one into their own sleep space, or improving sleep whilst continuing to co-sleep.
8. What age do you work with?
I work with little ones on a 1-1 basis from the age of 5 months, all the way up to 6 years. The methods of course are different depending on the needs, age and current sleep struggles of your child, but the principles remain the same: evidence-backed, gentle methods and a highly supportive model to ensure you achieve your sleep goals.
